How does a magnetic alarm system work and how do you prevent the alarm from going off?

There is an magnetic alarm system on my door and i want to know how i can get out without triggering the door.I already took out the magnet attached to the door itself and cut it in half.Would that decrease the chances of the alarm going off?

No cuting the magnet in half would not stop the alarm from going off. You have a little to much time on your hands or you are a little to paranoide. There is no way through it buddy without setting the alarm off.
