The notebook is surprisingly mobile for a 15-inch model - weighs 2.5 kg with a relatively light weight. It's thin, too, only 34 mm. My Acer Aspire One backlight does not work anymore but another laptop plugged to its screen works. Whats wrong?

ATTENTION COMMENTERS:
the old laptop connected with its own screen only shows without the backlight. Another screen from another same laptop plugged in comes bright. Explain that? Was about to buy a new motherboard for it but might be the inverter?

I can't really understand what is going on here, but if I have to take a crack at it, you are saying that your Monitor is no longer displaying an image, but when putting another Monitor on this Acer, the picture shows up?

If that is correct, there are a variety of things that can be wrong.

1. Bad or Broken Drivers
2. Broken Bulb
3. Broken Monitor all together

Try doing these series of tests:

1. Grab a Flashlight
2. Turn on computer
3. Turn on Flashlight
4. Hold Flashlight at a 45 Degree angle up on the Monitor

If you can see your computers desktop, or any image at that matter, then the Bulb inside the Monitor is blown. Bulbs can be easily replaced by taking them to any local shop. if no image is showing, continue forward!

On another working Monitor or computer, visit www.support.acer.com. From there, locate your Display Drivers and install them on the computer. Restart the computer and if the Display does not come back, then the Monitor is completely broken.
