What If There Was Dead Pixels On Your Lcd Screen
Sometimes, you may face the following situation. After you buy a laptop LCD screen and install it butyou find that there are some bright spots / dead pixels on your laptop screen. You may feel very disappointed and wonder whether this situation is normal or not.
First, we need to know what a dead pixel exactly is.
A dead pixel, by definition, is a dot of display on your laptop screen that remains unlit. The dead pixels are usually seen clearly against a white background. They are usually caused by manufacturing defects and manufacturers have a clause to say that a certain number of such pixels are permissible in a brand new laptop screen.
Second, we can begin to test the dead pixels.
The first way you can choose is to use a dead pixel test program like Dead Pixel Buddy to test whether there are some dead pixels. The program has a wizard which can help you to do the test through display of different background colors on your screen step by step, so you can see which dead pixels are present. This way is very useful to prove to the manufacturer that a dead pixel exists.
Third, after you have found some dead pixels on your laptop screen, you need to check the laptop screen manufacture's dead pixels policy.
Every laptop manufacturer and laptop screen manufacture has a ‘dead pixel policy'. You can get a replacement if the dead policy is beyond their policy. For example, if your laptop has more than 10 dead pixels but the manufacture's policy is 8 dead pixels at most, you can get a replacement from the manufacture. This policy differs between retail shops. Please check carefully before you purchase a laptop or a laptop screen.
Fourth, but there may be some other things like dead pixels you will find when you test the dead pixels. There are like stuck pixels and hot pixels.
A stuck pixel is most visible against a black background, where it may appear red, green, blue, cyan, magenta, or yellow. A hot pixel is a permanently lit pixel and is more obvious against a black background. Technically, a stuck or hot pixel is not considered a dead pixel. So when checking your manufacturer's policy, you might also want to ask about stuck and hot pixels too (most of them don't cover these defects).
If you face some stuck pixels, please don't worry. That can be corrected by using software. There is a program called Screen Fix that flashes numerous colors with a very rapid intensity onto your screen. You can also correct stuck pixels by rubbing the affected pixel area gently.

I bought a nintendo ds lite from gamestop last week, and i realized that it has a dead pixel. Will gamestop let me return it or exchage it?( i did not buy the safety plan)
You may do better to call Nintendo and see if they'll exchange it.
