You and I are good friends;
On that we both agree.
It means that I am here for you
And you are there for me.
We know each other's secrets.
We share our dreams and hopes,
We help each other stay upright
Along life's slippery slopes.
We might not speak for days or weeks...
Perhaps a month will pass.
But each knows that the other
Will be there to the last.
So, know - my friend, I love you.
This message makes it clear.
Good friends are forever

Wedding invites... Any DIY-ers?
I'm going to make my own invites. The colors are pink and green, so I'm going to make them 1/3 sheet of paper (like a business envelope). What I'm thinking of is finding green cardstock, and then printing the wording on a light pink overlay, and tying the top with a green ribbon. I'll either cut around the edges of the pink with scalloped scissors to show the green, use a pretty hole punch, or both.
Anyone else doing their own invitations? Pictures? Ideas?
I'm having a surprisingly hard time finding the right colors... green cardstock (a shade found in nature... not electric lime) and pale, pale pink paper (parchment? Just a hint of color). Know of any good resources? I did order samples from actionenvelope.com
Thanks!
I should add that I did go to Jo-anns and Michaels, but all the paper has bar code stickers on the back, rendering that part of the paper useless!! Argh!
Thanks for the ideas everyone!!
I'm DYI-ing my invites for my wedding. I'm a freelance graphic designer and wedding packages are my specialty so it should be VERY painless for me...
BUT if you're still having trouble finding the cardstock you want, go to a local printing company (like a Kinkos) and you can buy as many individual sheets of cardstock as you can imagine. They have TONS of colors. It might be a tad more expensive, but if you want a certain color this is the best way to go and it's really easy.
Also, what I'm doing with my invites is I have 3 smallish (4inch in diameter) circles that I attach together at the top with a brad so they spin apart. Each card has something different. The first one has our names that the whole "you are invited" schpeel, then the middle one has date, time, where, what and the final card has a map of the area so they can find their way from the wedding to reception. Each card is a different shade of purple (our wedding color).
Congratulations on your nuptials!
