What is Kicksledding and 10 Things Which Make it A Great Outdoor Winter Activity

One outdoor winter activity gaining popularity in the outdoors is kicksledding. What is kicksledding? A small sled with a mounted seat and skis that are used to glide along the ground during winter using your feet as a way to thrust it forward.

Winter is often viewed as a dull or "stay-indoors" type of season, but here are some reasons to go outside and try kicksledding, which make it such a great outdoor activity.

Physical activity is a great reason why kicksledding is a wonderful outdoor winter activity. It is often challenging to be active, especially outdoors during the winter season.

Exercising your lower back is one of the great benefits you can expect to experience while kicksledding.

Kicksledding is easy to learn. A few tries and you will be enjoying yourself before you realize how cold it is outside.

The design and functionality of the sled allow you to change your tempo if you find you are getting tired and need a little extra rest as you continue propelling yourself forward.

The kicksled has a combination of ski-like rails on the bottom of the sled which allow you to glide easily along the slippery surfaces in winter. These surfaces include snow covered areas and ice.

One of the best reasons why kicksledding is so great is the low cost to enjoy it. It compares to the cost of ski equipment or less.

Sometimes it is not enjoyable to do things by yourself. So another great reason to enjoy it is that you can do it with your friends. While you and your friends are being active on the sled, it may then turn into an afternoon activity of racing at a safe designated location.

Kicksledding is an environmentally friendly method of transportation which means less pollution and making a positive contribution to the world we live in.

As your interest grows, you may want to experience a kicksled safari vacation. This is a designated trail system where a trip is planned and depending on length of trip, you may stay overnight in various locations.

The number one reason that makes kicksledding such a great outdoor activity is that you truly get to appreciate the outdoors in winter and have fun doing it while making many positive contributions to yourself and the world around you. This winter you will be telling everyone you know how much you have gone outside to enjoy kicksledding.

You can learn more information about the history of kicksledding and if it is something you would like to try this winter.

Snowboarding help... What do I do?

Ok, I snowboard and have been for a while and I am pretty good. I go fast, shred, go off jumps, rails, everything. My only problem is that I don't have any gear and I still rent boards every time I go to the mountain. I see the sweet looking guys there with goggles, coats and snow pants that match their board, all that stuff, and I am there with gay black snow pants, a north face fleece jacket, sledding gloves, no goggles and a golf Titleist hat, and I am jealous. Basically, I just want to be informed on all of the styles of snowboarding for when I go shopping. What kind of design do I look for on my board? How do I know if my pants and jacket match my board? What goggles do I get? What do I wear underneath all this equipment? All help is greatly appreciated. Thank you all.

ok, so here are some big brands with huge reps behind them:

i have north fce black snow pants and everyone appreciates them, and they're about 150 bucks, so pretty cheap.
next, you want a different color jacket then your pants.
i have black pants and a blue jacket.
you can also go with a green jacket if you have black pants.
also, you can get a multi colored jacket, it doesn't have to be solid. i recommend you get solid pants though, not many people wear that stuff.
next, for a beanie, the two beanies that are "in style" are tall beanies which stand up on top of your head a little bit, and it bunches down in the back. the other type is beanies with the long things hanging down.
for goggles, the ones in style are anons and oakleys. a lot of people wear the tinted lenses, that basically reflect yourself when you look into them from the outside.
