If my car runs great on 87 ( REG GAS) but book says use 93( hi test) what should do?
If there is no engine knock, you should be OK.
Thing with the lower-octane gas is that under compression it might detonate prematurely compared to higher-octane gas, and when that happens you hear the engine knock (which is bad for the engine if it happens often enough).
Personally I'd stick with what the manual says, but it's your car.
