Does cable go out when your power goes out?

During a power outage, does your cable (TV or Internet) normally go out with it? That is to say, if you were to keep your TV and cable box on an Uninterruptible Power Supply and the power went out in the house, would you still have cable TV until the battery ran out or would more than likely the cable go out with the power? This is of course assuming that your cable provider is not on the same power grid as yourself.

Nope, my power was out for 10 days due to a hurricane & I never lost my Cable I kept my power up with generators.
